Huron
Colleges adopts interactive Smart boards in classrooms
Huron
College is in the forefront of integrating interactive technologies
into the classrooms. Most of our class rooms are now equipped with
Interactive Smart boards complete with Huge library of software
resources and innovative teaching tools to make the lectures more
interesting and at the same time allowing the students to participate
in the lectures. The Smart Boards are connected to High Speed Internet
and are capable of downloading informative visuals, movie clips
and data in seconds.

Huron
College Dental Hygiene program is approved and the classes have
started form Jan 07
The practice of Dental Hygiene is regulated under the Regulated
Health Professions Act, 1991, and the Dental Hygiene Act, 1991.
Ontario's
Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities - Private Institutions
Branch required an Independent Assessment of the Huron College of
Management, Technology and Health Care's Dental Hygiene Curriculum.
Independent Assessment Strategies Inc. (ASI) has completed the evaluation
of the Dental Hygiene Curriculum submitted by the Huron College
and found that Huron College's Dental Hygiene Program is compliant
with the consolidated standards. MTCU (Ministry of Training, Colleges
and Universities) has reviewed the assessment and has given it's
approval to start the program at Huron College's 175 Rexdale Blvd.
campus.
Graduates
are also required to take a provincial clinical competency assessment
in addition to the NDHCE. Students are responsible for contacting
the National Dental Hygiene Certification Board and College of Dental
Hygienists of Ontario (CDHO) to find out the details with respect
to writing the NDHCE and registering with the CDHO.

College joins OACC International and signs the Code of Ethics
As a member in good standing of the Ontario Association of Career
Colleges (OACC), we pledge to abide by all elements of OACC's Code
of Ethics with respect to advertising, the recruitment and admission
of International Students, the provision of specialized student
services, and adherence to ethical refund policies To meet the International
student service objectives, OACC members agree to:
- Assist
students to obtain a comprehensive health and hospital insurance
plan coverage.
- Link their international students
who wish to access home-stay services with people in the community
who wish to offer a room in their home and provide students with
a safe and welcoming environment
- Direct students who prefer a less
structured environment to local homes and apartments that offer
furnished rooms at reasonable rates.
