Huron College Dental Hygiene program is approved and the classes have started form Jan 07

The practice of Dental Hygiene is regulated under the Regulated Health Professions Act, 1991, and the Dental Hygiene Act, 1991.

Ontario's Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities - Private Institutions Branch required an Independent Assessment of the Huron College of Management, Technology and Health Care's Dental Hygiene Curriculum. Independent Assessment Strategies Inc. (ASI) has completed the evaluation of the Dental Hygiene Curriculum submitted by the Huron College and found that Huron College's Dental Hygiene Program is compliant with the consolidated standards. MTCU (Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities) has reviewed the assessment and has given it's approval to start the program at Huron College's 175 Rexdale Blvd. campus.

Graduates are also required to take a provincial clinical competency assessment in addition to the NDHCE. Students are responsible for contacting the National Dental Hygiene Certification Board and College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario (CDHO) to find out the details with respect to writing the NDHCE and registering with the CDHO.
